RES has submitted a planning application to Derry City and Strabane District Council for our Killymallaght energy storage project on land close to the Killymallaght substation, in the townland of Disertowen, approximately 2.5km southeast of Newbuildings, Co. Derry/Londonderry.

Increasing the installed capacity of energy storage is essential to enabling and accelerating the rollout of zero carbon energy to support Northern Ireland's net zero emissions target. Renewable energy technologies can generate electricity intermittently and energy storage technologies support this by playing an important balancing and grid stability role.
